Tennisclub LTV Almere is the first tennis club in Almere to replace all its lights with LICHT2 LED lighting. “It saves us energy costs, it is better for the environment and it also provides much more light,” says chairman Wim Verkerk. He is proud of the club’s new addition, for which they even created a new sustainability committee last year. “After lengthy research, it appeared that SPORT Technologies was the best option, partly due to their LED luminaires developed in the Netherlands. We are therefore very happy with the result and the good cooperation,” he added.
It was possible for the new eight-track lighting was placed on the existing poles because the light fittings only weight 15 kilograms. The tracks are now better illuminated because LICHT2 LED luminaires don’t just provide more light but it is also more focused where it is needed without losing any light to the side. This is, therefore, less disturbing for the surrounding environment and near neighbours, who were invited to the opening. Meanwhile, as the light looks more like natural daylight, spectators have a better view of the ball in the evening which is particularly beneficial for older supporters.
